Wilson's Grocery - Cortez, Colorado

Wilson's Grocery Store, about one mile north of Cortez on the northeast corner of Road L and Highway 666.  Charles B and Pearl Wilson had this store from 1948 to 1951. They lived in a small house behind the store.  Their son Vern and his wife Laura lived in another small house a little further back from his parents.

Grandma Pearl Wilson is standing by the gas pump and Dad Wilson is standing back by the side of the grocery.
Pearl standing next to gas pump. Charles leaning against side.

Vern Wilson is standing by his truck in front of the Wilson's Grocery. Vern had a roofing company called "Valley Roofing".  The bottom photo shows a view of the side of the grocery.  I love the Coke sign and the Pepsi sign below it.  Wish I had those!

This is cool. I did not know that the Wilson's had a gas station/grocery. It appears to be an early-day convenience store. Thanks for sharing.
