Hatfield Photos - Who is who?

Help identify
these Hatfield photos!

I am trying to figure out which photo is of John M. Hatfield JR.  If the one posted by Walter Hatfield on Ancestry.com (2nd photo shown below) is John Martin Hatfield JR., then the man in the 1st photo that states it is of Martin M. Hatfield's father (John Martin Hatfield, JR) must be John Martin Hatfield SR.

The first top photo, which was a photocopy not an original, was given to me years ago by Uncle Wilber and had written beneath the photo: "Martin M. Hatfield's father - no date."  I think that was inferred  from the inscription on the back of the original photo, but I never saw the back of the original.  Most likely the photo was identified as John M Hatfield.  Someone knew that John M Hatfield was Martin M Hatfield's father, so they assumed it was a photo of  his father.  What they may not have realized was that Martin M Hatfield's father, John M Hatfield, also had a father by the name of John M Hatfield.  Having two John Martin Hatfield's in a family is confusing.😧

Research has shown that this photo most likely belongs to John Martin Hatfield, Senior 1800-1857.

John Martin Hatfield, Senior 1800-1857

This second photo is of John Martin Hatfield JR, taken 1885-1895, was posted by Walter Hatfield on Ancestry.com.  His source is the Gary Hatfield family photos.

John Martin Hatfield, JR 1829-1898

I don't think that the above two men look like the same person?  Their hair is parted on opposite sides of the head and the ears of the man in the bottom photo seem more prominent.  John M Hatfield JR parts his hair on left and his father parts his hair on his right.  The clothes seem to be of different time periods.  In the top photo, John Senior seems to be wearing clothes of an earlier time period.  But John SR died in 1857, and I'm not sure how available photography was prior to the Civil War.

Photos belonging to Martin M Hatfield

I have another set of photos (below) that might help solve this mystery.  I own the originals -- they have been in our family for well over 100 years now.  The photos belonged to Martin Monroe Hatfield, son of John Martin Hatfield JR and Martha Jay.  They were passed down to Martin M Hatfield's daughter, Minnie Pearl Hatfield Wilson, then to her daughter Maymie Pearl Wilson Martin, then to her granddaughter Cathy in the 1980's.  The photos were well used and in poor condition.  Each of the photos is on a heavy card stock about 2-1/2 by 4 inches in size.  Each has a small round hole in the top corner.  It's as if the photos at one time were tied together by a ribbon or cord of some sort.
The man in the photo looks like the man in the above photo second down - (John Martin Hatfield JR)

Both of the below photos were written on the back: "Mr. M. M. Hatfield, Quinlan, Okla."  The man's photo also has the notation: "2 on same cord, 20x16 *** $3.96, cloths black body waist shirt."
The back of the photo for the woman looks as if it had something glued to it at one time that was mostly ripped off.  Her photo has a photographers stamp from Winfield, Kansas but the name of the photographer is covered up.

It's as if a photographer was making additional copies of photos for Mr. M. M. Hatfield of Quinlan, Oklahoma.  M.M. Hatfield was probably ordering an extra of photos of his parents

The man in the photo below looks like the man in the second photo above of John M Hatfield JR.  Both have high foreheads with thinning hair.   And, they part their hair on their left.  Both also have similar mustaches.  It appears that both photos are of the same man - John M Hatfield JR.

Photos of  his parents:
John M Hatfield JR and Martha Jay Hatfield

The photos above are Martin Monroe Hatfield's father, John Martin Hatfield JR, and his mother, Martha Jay Hatfield (first wife of John M Hatfield).  Was Mr. M. M. Hatfield ordering copies of photos of his parents to have them sent to him while he was living in Quinlin, Oklahoma?  Martin Hatfield's brother, Charley Hatfield compiled a family history in 1899.  Having copies made of their parents photos might have been part of the family history the they were working on.

I have other photos of the Martin Monroe Hatfield family on this blog that you can look at and compare.  Martin M. Hatfield did not move to Quinlan, OK until about 1899.  The clothing the couple is wearing is more typical of the 1850's-1860's not 1899.

Conclusion

The top photo above is most likely John Martin Hatfield SR.  The second photo appears to be the same person as the man in the 3rd photo (couple photos).  The couple photos are of John M Hatfield JR and his wife, Martha Jay Hatfield.
